The Mediterranean Restaurant, Llandudno

It’s been a long day in Venue Cymru and I joined fellow exhibitors for a meal in the Mediterranean Restaurant, which they’d recommended having eaten there the previous night.

They sang the praises of the garlic mushrooms and the pizza; I foolishly ignored their advice and had a rather pleasant garlic bread to start (generously garlicky and buttery) followed by a frankly disappointing penne amatriciana with unsmoked bacon, over-blanched penne and no offer of parmesan or black pepper. The service was par (not above, not particularly below – but the basic minimum; they took our orders and our money in return for food). Four-hour car journey aside, I don’t think I’ll be back.
