Sweet chili sausages in soft submarine rolls

In keeping with yesterday’s campfire food theme, and in preparation for the Drunk Within Tent expedition tomorrow, tonight is another smoky summer special from the BBC Good Food website.

A simple marinade of ketchup and honey with a pinch of chili, this is a scrumptious way to dress up sausages. Dished up in soft submarine rolls, it would have been even better if I’d thought to add in some onion chutney. Delicious.

Easy to knock up after a busy afternoon trial-pitching the new tent and learning how to joint a chicken (the latter courtesy of my mother, who made a delicious chicken basque for Sunday lunch. Have no doubt that  it will be making an appearance on these pages in the near future – a one-pot with amazing flavours).
