Chicken and chorizo paella

H and I really enjoyed the jambalaya we had earlier this year, so when I saw the similarities with this seafood-free paella recipe I suspected we were onto a winner. It smelt and looked tantalisingly tasty: both of us piled our plates high and left them empty.

Just as I'd added the red pepper and petits pois

Rather than skinning, seeding and dicing tomatoes I doubled the red pepper content, but that was the only change I made. Delicious, and certainly a meal we’ll be having again!

I do love all the vibrant colours – the red pepper and the verdant green of the petits pois really emphasise the turmeric yellow of the rice.
