Gammon steak with broad beans

June 19, 2011

This is the first time I’ve ever cooked gammon, and it’s both delicious and simple. It’s based on a BBC Good Food recipe, but I didn’t use the lovage that they recommend, mostly because I couldn’t find it in my local supermarket.

A simple meal of podded broad beans and gammon

Two key things to be aware of when cooking this meal:
1) the gammon steaks in Sainsbury’s are big enough to split between two and
2) it’s worth finding something decent to watch before you start podding any decent quantity of broad beans.

Certainly one to have again. It doesn’t suffer at all from the lack of rice/pasta/potato/name your carbohydrate.
