Harissa turkey meatballs with fruit salad quinoa

May 16, 2011

Sound a little out there? It was really – there’s just so much going on in this dish. Loads of great flavours, but they don’t quite all gel for me.

A bowl full of goodness

It’s a BBC Good Food recipe, which I tweaked slightly. I used turkey rather than chicken (I don’t think I’ve ever seen chicken mince for sale in my local supermarket), and the meatballs had a nice kick from the harissa and the grated red onion. They took minutes to make, and would probably be great with a simple tomato sauce to accompany pasta.

Pomegranate is new to us as well, and a welcome discovery. I suspect that they’ll pay a key part in some of our summer cocktails!
