Turkey tetrazzini

April 17, 2011

An American pasta dish with a handful of ingredients, this is a flexible dish that you can easily alter to fit your tastes and the contents of your cupboard. The BBC Good Food recipe that I’m using skips the traditional almonds while keeping white sauce and mushrooms. This is traditionally made with poultry or seafood; in this case the turkey steaks that are on offer in Sainsbury’s.

Dished up in bowls with white sauce and peas

The meal is fine, if nondescript.  The turkey, white sauce and pasta combine in a majesty of blandness which is emphasised by the counterpoint of the chili. I would be tempted to make this again with mixed vegetables and more Tabasco, but the meal as it stands isn’t enough to convince me that it’s worth another shot.
