Bobotie and yellow rice with a tomato salad
April 16, 2011
This was the most adventurous meal of the challenge so far, and it was a relief when it worked out so well. Bobotie (pronounced ba-boor-tea) is the national dish of South Africa – I used a BBC Good Food recipe and followed their suggestions for the rice and salad sides.
The curried aroma as it cooks is delightful; I’m surprised and thrilled by how well all the flavours work together and H is a fan too. This would be fabulous to serve for a dinner party with guests who are up for something different, obviously with a great Cape wine.
