An oh-so-simple low-fat and vegetarian soup, the perfect light meal before an evening class, this lentil and chickpea soup is yet another BBC Good Food recipe. I’m utterly indebted to that website.

Steaming hot with chunks of homemade bread

Ten minutes to prep and twenty to cook, store cupboard ingredients, plenty of punch – what’s not to like?
