Lamb, at a corporate function

I try not to think about how much time I’ve spent planning this evening’s event, but it’s quite substantial. This is the biggest of this kind of event that we do, and better than that – it’s the last for this year. I’m fairly confident that my main innovation went down rather well and I have a very good idea of what we’d like next year to look like.

The food, however, is something of a disappointment. The lamb is pinker than I prefer but also manages to be rather tough and quite fatty, served with mediocre vegetables and a gravy that appears so late that it may well be a dessert. I hate this sort of thing, but I’ve had so many complaints I’ll have to feed that back to the venue and think about finding somewhere else for next year.

Still, the jester was fantastic!
